JOB ROLES: Indirect Tax Analyst
Location -WORK FROM HOME
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Ownership and main point of contact for escalated sales tax refunds related to taxability issues and buyer exemptions
Collaborate with customer service to resolve customer-initiated sales/VAT tax inquiries
Assist US-based Indirect Tax Team in gathering and analyzing large data sets and other audit support documentation
Assist US-based Indirect Tax Team with other special projects or miscellaneous duties as assigned
Perform ad-hoc tax technical research
Requirements:
Experience with U.S. sales & use taxes is required, knowledge of Canadian GST and additional global VAT systems a plus
Capable of working independently while acting as part of a global tax team
Strong issue identification and mitigation skills
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner both written and verbally
Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and tax research engines required
Experience with SharePoint, Tableau, Alteryx and other data wrangling tools preferred
Experience with Vertex and/or other tax engines preferred
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with emphasis in Finance, Information Systems, or Accounting. Advanced degree a plus
- Fluent in English – other languages helpful
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 1-3 years of related indirect tax experience. Big 4 experience a plus
