Job Role :Power BI SME (Finance)
Location: WORK FROM HOME/HYDERABAD
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Collaborate with stakeholders from the finance department to gather requirements and understand their reporting and analytical needs.
- Design and develop Power BI solutions, including data models, reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to finance teams.
- Create and maintain data connections, data transformations, and data refresh schedules in Power BI.
- Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data used in Power BI solutions.
- Optimize and fine-tune Power BI reports and dashboards for improved performance and user experience.
- Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to end-users on how to effectively use Power BI for financial analysis and reporting.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and functionalities, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage them in our finance reporting processes.
- Collaborate with the IT department to integrate Power BI with other systems and data sources, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to Power BI and finance analytics and apply them to enhance our reporting capabilities.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) would be a plus.
SKILLS
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Consultant; finance-related projects would be a plus.
- General understanding of finance concepts, financial reporting, and analysis desired but not required.
- Proficiency in developing complex data models, analyses, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M Query Language.
- Experience with data modelling and ETL processes and working with large datasets.
- Familiarity with Alteryx, SQL and/or Snowflake would be a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective Power BI solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and staying updated with the latest trends in Power BI and finance analytics.
