APPSC Group 1 Apply Online: Important Dates

The online application process for APPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2026 will begin on October 6, 2026. The last date to submit the application is October 27, 2026, by 11:59 PM.

Candidates are advised to submit their applications well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. Applicants must read the notification and instructions carefully before filling out the online application form.

Important: The Brief Notification does not provide the complete details of age limit, reservation, application fee or post-wise eligibility conditions. These details are expected in the Detailed Notification, which APPSC has stated will be available on or before October 6, 2026.

APPSC Group 1 Selection Process

The APPSC Group 1 selection process consists of a Screening Test, Mains Examination and Interview. The Screening Test will be conducted offline in objective type using OMR sheets. The examination date will be announced in the Detailed Notification.

1. Screening Test – Preliminary Examination

The Screening Test consists of two papers. Each paper carries 120 questions, 120 marks and a duration of 120 minutes.

History and Culture
Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations
Indian and Andhra Pradesh Economy and Planning
Geography

Paper-II: General Aptitude

General Mental Ability, Administrative and Psychological Abilities
Science and Technology
Current Events of Regional, National and International Importance

Each paper carries 120 marks. A negative marking of one-third of the marks prescribed for the question will apply for every wrong answer.

2. Mains Examination

The Mains Examination includes qualifying papers in Telugu and English, along with five main descriptive papers and an interview.

Each Mains paper has a duration of 180 minutes. The Telugu and English papers are qualifying in nature.

APPSC Group 1 Syllabus 2026

The APPSC Group 1 syllabus covers Indian history, Andhra Pradesh history, Constitution, polity, economy, geography, general aptitude, science and technology, and current affairs.

The Mains syllabus also includes topics related to Andhra Pradesh’s economy, bifurcation, governance, agriculture, infrastructure, environmental issues, and science and technology.

Important Mains Subjects

Paper-I: General Essay

Candidates must write three essays, one from each of the three sections, in approximately 800 words each. The syllabus includes current affairs, socio-political issues, socio-economic issues, socio-environmental issues, cultural and historical aspects, civic awareness and reflective topics.

Paper-II: History, Culture and Geography

This paper covers the history and culture of India and Andhra Pradesh, including ancient, medieval and modern history, the freedom movement, Andhra Pradesh’s formation and development, physical geography, economic geography and environmental geography.

Paper-III: Polity, Constitution, Governance, Law and Ethics

The syllabus includes the Indian Constitution, Union and State Governments, Parliament, State Legislatures, judiciary, public administration, good governance, ethics in public service and basic knowledge of Indian laws.

Paper-IV: Economy and Development

Important topics include Indian and Andhra Pradesh economies, government budgeting, inclusive growth, agriculture, industrial development, infrastructure, employment and economic challenges.

Paper-V: Science and Technology

The syllabus covers science and technology, ICT, space technology, energy resources, environmental issues, biotechnology, nanotechnology, human diseases and intellectual property rights.
