JOB DESCRIPTION:
IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the CRP RRBs XV Notification 2026 for recruitment to Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Officers Scale-I, Scale-II and Scale-III in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). The online application process will be conducted from September 1, 2026 to September 21, 2026.
As per the vacancy tables provided in Annexure-I of the notification, the recruitment covers 13,706 indicative vacancies across the notified posts, with vacancies subject to change based on the actual vacancies reported by participating RRBs.

For Office Assistant, candidates should have been born between September 2, 1998 and September 1, 2008, both dates inclusive.
For Officer Scale-I, the permitted date of birth range is September 2, 1996 to September 1, 2008.
For Officer Scale-II, it is September 2, 1994 to September 1, 2005.
For Officer Scale-III, it is September 2, 1986 to September 1, 2005.
Age Relaxation
SC/ST – 5 years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years
PwBD – 10 years
Eligible Ex-Servicemen – as prescribed in the notification
Certain widows, divorced women and legally separated women for Office Assistant – specified additional relaxation

Educational Qualification
The educational qualification is to be considered as on September 21, 2026, the last date of online registration.
Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Candidates should have:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent
Proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB
Working knowledge of computers is desirable
There is no post-qualification experience requirement mentioned for Office Assistant.

Preference may be given to candidates with qualifications in areas such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, IT, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy
Local language proficiency is an essential qualificationWorking knowledge of computers is desirable.
Officer Scale-II – General Banking Officer
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Minimum 50% marks
2 years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution
Officer Scale-II – Specialist OfficersThe notification includes specialist posts such as:

Agricultural OfficerExperience requirements vary by post. For example, IT Officer requires one year in the relevant field, CA requires one year as a Chartered Accountant, Law Officer requires two years as an advocate or Law Officer in a bank/financial institution, and Agricultural Officer requires two years of relevant experience.
Officer Scale-III – Senior Manager
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Minimum 50% marks
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial InstitutionPreference is given to candidates with qualifications in banking, finance, agriculture, IT, management, law, economics, accountancy and related areas.
Local Language Eligibility
For Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I, proficiency in the local language specified by the participating RRB is an essential qualification.

Uttar Pradesh – Hindi, Urdu, SanskritThe notification lists 28 participating RRBs and their prescribed local languages.
Candidates who studied the relevant local language in Standard VIII or above in a recognized educational institution are considered proficient. In certain cases, candidates may be given six months from joining to acquire the required language proficiency, subject to the conditions in the notification.

Officer Scale-II and III Exam Pattern
Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer and Officer Scale-III have a Single Online Examination consisting of 200 questions for 200 marks with a duration of 120 minutes.
Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers have a separate structure with 240 questions, 200 marks and 150 minutes, including Professional Knowledge along with other sections.
Negative Marking
There is negative marking in the Preliminary, Main and Single Level examinations.
For every wrong answer, 0.25 or one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
There is no penalty for an unanswered question.
IBPS RRB Selection Process 2026
Office AssistantPreliminary Exam → Main Exam → Provisional Allotment
For Office Assistants, candidates qualifying in the Preliminary Examination will be shortlisted for the Main Examination. Final provisional allotment is based on Main Examination marks and actual vacancies reported by the RRBs.
Officer Scale-I
Preliminary Exam → Main Exam → Interview → Provisional Allotment
Officer Scale-II & III
Single Online Exam → Interview → Provisional Allotment
For Officers, the interview carries 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are not less than 40% for general candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. The relative weightage of Online Examination and Interview is 80:20.
