APPSC Assistant Statistical Officer Selection Process

The recruitment examination will consist of a single-level examination only.

Importantly, APPSC has stated that no Screening Test will be conducted, irrespective of the number of applications received. The examination will be conducted in Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) mode.

If the examination is conducted in multiple sessions, APPSC may adopt a normalization process wherever necessary and applicable.

The written examination is of Degree Standard and consists of two papers.

Education Required:

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with any one of the following qualifications:

Statistics as one of the main subjects.
Mathematics, with Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years, as applicable.
Economics, with Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years, as applicable.
Commerce, with Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years, as applicable.
Computer Science, with Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years, as applicable.

The degree should be from a university established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act, a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or a foreign university approved by the Central Government.

The practical test has:
Duration: 60 minutes
Maximum Marks: 100
Minimum qualifying marks: 30 for SC/ST/PBD, 35 for BCs and 40 for OCs.
The CPT syllabus covers computer fundamentals, operating systems, internet concepts, email, World Wide Web, office applications, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
Candidates may also be assessed on practical skills such as document preparation, typing speed, inserting and organizing objects, Excel spreadsheets, formulas, conditional formatting, charts and PowerPoint presentations.
